With the recent retirement of Office 365 Connectors within Microsoft Teams, integrating Dotcom-Monitor alerts with Microsoft Teams channels requires using the Workflows app. This guide will walk you through setting up this integration to ensure you continue receiving alerts in your MS Teams channels efficiently.
Create a Workflow in Microsoft Teams for Dotcom-Monitor Alerts:
- Install the Workflows App. Learn more about the Workflows App here.
- Navigate to the channel where you want to receive Dotcom-Monitor alerts.
- Click on the Workflows tab or access it from the channel’s Apps menu.
- In the Workflows app, click on Create a new workflow.
- Choose a template that allows for HTTP requests (e.g., “Post to a channel when a webhook request is received”). This is how Dotcom-Monitor will send alerts to Teams.
- Copy the unique URL generated for the workflow. This URL will be used as the webhook endpoint in Dotcom-Monitor.
Configure Dotcom-Monitor to send alerts to the Workflow:
- Log in to your Dotcom-Monitor Account and go to Manage > Delivery Address Groups.
- Select the notification group assigned to the device you want to post messages from. Alternatively, you can create a new group and assign it to the device.
- On the Edit screen, in the Delivery Address section, click Add and select Teams Flow as a new address type.
- Paste the Teams workflow URL into the Webhook URL field.
- In the Advanced Settings section, customize the message payload to match the data structure expected by your Teams Workflow.
- Click Add to add the Teams flow delivery address to the group and apply changes.
To ensure the workflow processes Dotcom-Monitor alerts correctly and posts them in the Teams channel, send a test Dotcom-Monitor alert from the monitoring device actions menu (Device Manager > the device Actions menu > Send Test Alert). If you have an old Teams delivery address configured for the device, remove the address from the corresponding delivery address group.
